Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
This page explains the rules for using easy dating, how we handle your data, and the rights you have as a member. We have written it in plain language so you can actually read it.

Terms of service summary
By creating an account on easy dating, you agree to these terms. We keep them short on purpose. You must be 18 or older to join. You must use your real name or a consistent, identifiable chosen name, and a current photo of yourself for verification. You may not create duplicate accounts, impersonate another person, or operate the service on behalf of a business.
easy dating is one of several dating sites for people with disabilities, chronic illness, neurodivergence, Deaf culture, and allies. Membership is free. We do not charge for core features, and we never ask for a credit card at sign-up. If that ever changes, existing members will be notified at least 30 days in advance.
We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms, including profiles that harass, fetishize, scam, or misrepresent identity. We try to give warnings first when behavior is ambiguous - we act without warning when safety is at stake.
Privacy policy and data handling
Privacy matters more on a disabled dating site than on a generic one. Your disability status, medication list, mobility aids, or neurotype can affect insurance, employment, custody, and - under current US rules - Supplemental Security Income benefits. We take that seriously.
What we collect
- Account data: email, chosen name, age, rough location (city/state level), and password hash.
- Profile data you choose to share: photos, about-me text, mood tags, and optional disability disclosure fields.
- Verification data: a selfie video compared to your profile photo, then deleted within 30 days.
- Usage data: login times, device type, and basic analytics needed to keep the service running.
- Messages: stored encrypted at rest so we can deliver them and investigate reports.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for your Social Security number, disability benefits case number, medical records, or diagnosis paperwork. We have no contract with data brokers and do not sell personal data to advertisers.
SSI and benefits sensitivity
In 2026 the federal maximum monthly SSI stipend is $994 for an individual and $1,491 for a married couple - a 25% per-person penalty when incomes combine (Social Security Administration, 2026). Because SSI is the gateway to Medicaid in most states, some members worry that relationship status on a dating profile could affect benefits. easy dating does not share relationship status, messages, or profile data with the Social Security Administration, Medicaid, or any government agency unless compelled by a valid US court order.
Cookie policy
We use cookies and similar browser storage in three narrow ways:
- Essential cookies keep you logged in and remember your accessibility and theme preferences (such as dark mode). You cannot turn these off without breaking the service.
- Security cookies help detect unusual sign-ins and block romance-scam automation.
- Aggregate analytics count page views and button clicks in a privacy-preserving, IP-anonymized way. No third-party advertising cookies are used.
You can clear cookies at any time from your browser settings. Doing so will log you out and reset saved preferences, but will not delete your account.
Data handling and retention
We keep data only as long as it serves you or a clear safety purpose. Here is how long each category sticks around.
| Data type | Retention period | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account profile & photos | Until you delete your account | Needed to run the service. |
| Selfie-verification video | Up to 30 days | Reviewed by a human, then deleted. |
| Messages between members | Until either member deletes the thread or their account | Conversation history is yours. |
| Abuse & safety reports | Up to 24 months after resolution | Pattern detection and appeals. |
| Billing records (if any) | 7 years | US tax and audit requirements. |
| Server backups | Rolling 35 days | Disaster recovery only. |
User conduct rules
easy dating works because members treat each other with dignity. The rules below apply to every message, photo, and profile field. You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, or dehumanize any member - including through slurs, ableist language, or pity framing.
- Ask intrusive medical or sexual questions about someone's disability early in conversation.
- Send unsolicited nude images or sexual messages at any point without explicit consent.
- Request money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or financial help of any kind.
- Share another member's photos, messages, or identifying details outside the platform.
- Post links to external chat apps, payment systems, or adult content.
- Operate fake, duplicate, or commercial accounts.
We operate a "better safe than sorry" moderation approach, similar to leading inclusive platforms. Profiles flagged as creepy, predatory, or inconsistent with verification can be removed on the first credible report. Read how reporting and verification work.
Anti-devotee and anti-harassment clauses
Fetishizing disability is a removable offense. A devotee is someone who is sexually aroused by disability itself rather than attracted to a whole person who happens to be disabled. Common devotee behaviors include demanding photos of stumps, scars, mobility aids, or seizure episodes; pursuing only disabled partners with a specific "preferred" condition; and treating disability as an exotic novelty.
Genuine respect and interest are essential. Trust your instincts, keep initial meetings public, and use the platform's reporting tools when someone is disrespectful. - adapted from AbiliMatch community guidelines
If you believe a member is behaving as a devotee, pretender, or wannabe, report them through the profile menu. Our trust & safety team reviews reports within 24 hours. Appeals are handled by a different reviewer than the one who made the original decision. See our full safety and reporting process.
Accessibility statement (WCAG 2.1 AA)
easy dating is designed to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This is both a legal obligation and a product promise. In April 2024, the US Department of Justice published a final rule adopting WCAG 2.1 AA as the accessibility standard for state and local government digital services, with staged compliance through 2026-2027. We hold ourselves to the same bar voluntarily because 72% of mobile user journeys on mainstream apps still contain accessibility barriers (accessibility.works, 2025) - and we will not be the 73rd.
What this means in practice
- Text alternatives on every meaningful image, including profile photos where members provide them.
- Full keyboard navigation - no feature requires a mouse or a swipe gesture.
- Screen-reader tested with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver on each release.
- Color contrast ratios of at least 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text.
- Captioned video verification and captioned help content.
- Reduced-motion preference respected site-wide.
Accessibility is never "done." If something on easy dating is hard to use with your assistive technology, email [email protected] and we will respond within three business days.
Account deletion and your data rights
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete. Deletion removes your profile from search and match results immediately and erases your personal data from active systems within 30 days. Backup copies roll out within 35 days after that.
Under US state privacy laws - including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Virginia CDPA, and Colorado CPA - you have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data, subject to legal holds (for example, billing records kept for tax audits).
- Opt out of any non-essential data sharing.
- Be free from retaliation for exercising any of these rights.
Submit requests through Settings or by emailing [email protected]. We verify identity with a short video confirmation to prevent unauthorized deletion of someone else's account.
Governing law - United States
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through our internal support team will be handled through binding arbitration in Wilmington, Delaware, except where local consumer-protection law gives you a non-waivable right to sue in small-claims court. Nothing in these terms waives your rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, or the Fair Housing Act.
Questions about these terms
Questions, appeals, or privacy requests go to [email protected] - or use the contact page for mailing address and expected response times. For site usage questions, start with the FAQ. For safety concerns, see Safety & Privacy.
These terms may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be announced by in-app notice and email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of easy dating after an update means you accept the revised terms.
